Southside Skating School offers Learn to Skate Hockey classes for hockey driven skaters. Skaters will be taught important skating skills including edges, stopping, speed, control, backwards skating, and agility in a fun and engaging environment. Skaters will also learn stick and puck handling and other hockey skills to prepare them for Cross-Ice and future game situations.
Some skating experience is required - we ask that participants be able to skate 1 lap unassisted and have completed Snowplow Sam 2 or Basic 1 levels.
Players are required to have:
Hockey Gloves, Shin Pads, and Elbow pads are recommended
What's Included with my registration? 7 weeks of classes, 2 open skate passes, and membership to Learn to Skate USA (an $18 value), which includes a skating magazine subscription, insurance coverage to provide peace-of-mind for all involved in the sport, online resources for parents and skaters, and other educational materials.
Learn to Hockey Skate: $98 for 50 minute class. 2x a week for $130
All Southside Learn to Play skaters MUST be registered with USA Hockey in order to participate.

USA Hockey Registration
If your skater is 6 and under, USA Hockey Registration is FREE. For skaters over the age of 6, the cost is $45 per season and your USA Hockey Registration is good for all sessions in the 2018-2019 Season: July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019. A copy of skater's birth certificate is required to upload for new skaters only.
